We are renovating our kitchen and it is U-shaped. Our fridge is 8' across from the sink and the counter. The stove is at the bottom of the "U" with little counter space to use around it because of the microwave and built in drawers for flour, sugar, etc. The only alternative is to put a narrow island to utilize when I need to do things like clean my fridge, empty my dishwasher (which is beside my sink) etc. Would this work?
Justin...the fridge is part of the U...but on the side of the U and it is too far from the sink where there are counters...8'. Therefore, I would have to put everything down on the floor if I am cleaning my fridge...or take it all across the room to the sink side...which is possible, but not practical. There is no freed up counterspace where the oven is, if the stove is in use...So...I'm asking if I have enough room to use a narrow island...
