Buying espresso beans in bulk...?
Sooo the bistro I work at is still in the opening stages and we haven't yet gotten the supplies together for espresso beverages yet. I used to work as a barista, so I've been delegated the task of getting this together. The part I'm having trouble with is selecting a company to supply our espresso beans, any suggestions? I'm kind of a coffee snob, but the drip coffee that's served at the restaurant comes in pre-ground bags (it hurts me if I think about it too much) so I guess top-tier gourmet beans aren't a requisite. Also, should I take the cheap route and buy pre-ground or invest in a decent grinder? How quickly does the quality of pre-ground coffee deteriorate? I'd honestly like to buy from a local roaster (I live in NE OK), but since I probably won't be able to eke the money out of my boss for high-quality beans, I'm okay with ordering out-of-state.

i have always used the same grounds in my espresso pot that i use in the drip machine, you could give that a try, make sure you use a tamp to pack the grounds tightly in the ground-holder-thingy.
