I'm kinda new to filters. I have never had a fish that needed one...only heaters. I am now getting a black moor goldfish.
Im going to be getting a filter rated for 30 gallons for my goldfish. He will be in a 15 gallon tank but since goldfish produce alot of waste I know to get a bigger filter.
So what is the best kind of filter? I want to get as cheap as possible, and easy to maintain.

I have a 29 G Tank housing lots of Goldfish with a Sponge & a Powerhead filter. & they do work quite nicely so i suggest you to buy either a Sponge or a Powerhead or even both as both of them are quite affordable. The user above me is suggesting a Bio-Wheel Filter but these filters are quite hefty in price though they work nicely. & i noticed that you already found a good Sponge Filter on e.bay(http://cgi.ebay.com/OCEAN-FREE-SUPER-BIO-FOAM-30-GALLON-SPONGE-FILTER-/150427479108?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item23062d2c44) with a good price so why not buy it. I own a similar Sponge Filter which cost me around $5 at the local pet store. For maintaining a Sponge Filter, all you need to do is clean it ONCE a month on running water & to maintain a Powerhead Filter, all you got to do is clean its internal sponge ONCE a week.
