Getting a Male Leopard gecko off kijiji! (Assistance needed)?
Yesterday my dad was looking at Leopard geckos and he found a 30 dollar one with a tank . i gave them my 65 dollars to get some supplies probably not efficient. but if it wont do im sure my parents will pay for the rest. i think it comes with 100 worms/crickets . anyways I need to know what my parents should ask the guy as in order of questions. ( the age , the birth date , the type of leopard gecko - because of different Morphs , What it eats already , if its handheld trained/tame .. , does it bite , is it 100% healthy .. and the rest is up to you guys your the experts ! C:
Alot of the time it is not so much what you ask as what you see.
The questions above are a good start also how much he asks or tells your father can be more of a give away. I mean if he wants to just hand it over and have that be it then your dad needs to be sure it is healthy. Ideally if this is your first leo and your dad says so he should then be told basic care the person should care that the animal will be getting the proper care. You should also be asking questions about the dusting of the feeders. How often and what with. that way you will know if the animal has had the proper calcium and vits.
How much the animal weighs is a good start so as you can keep an eye on it at home if the leo takes a wile to start eating again.
Your dad wants to be looking to see that the eyes and nose are clear that it is alert and has a good fat tail. Also have a look at its toes to see if it still has them all ( i find the easiest way to tell how well the animal is looked after is to check the toes. It does not take much effort to remove any stuck shed and if it has not been done then that says enough)
