can anyone recommend a good book for recovery from heroin & pill?

My boyfriend just checked into rehab on sunday and im going to visit him on sat. so i've been looking on amazon.com for book that i could give to him. He loves to read. I was hoping to find a narrative type book? thnx ahead of time!

He might enjoy a million little pieces, it's a novel But either Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous or Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions will be more useful. There is also an NA workbook that's good. For yourself, try How Al-anon Works or Paths to Recovery. If you learn about his problem you will be able to help him much better. Besides books, he might want paper, pens, socks, underwear, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste and a good razor. Most rehabs don't provide much in the way of personal items. Don't take anything that might get stolen. Oh, and cigarettes if they allow smoking. If he doesn't smoke he can trade them maybe. I hope he makes it the first time.
