what was total amount of home runs hit during the steroid era as compared to pre and post steroid era numbers?
i am doing a project and i want to use this as an arguement about the steroid era. i just need to know the average total homeruns during the steroid era, the average totals of the pre steroid era, as well as the post steroid era (now)
Well, lets begin with this.
The Steroid Era is considered to be from 1988-Present. In that time there were 98,633 HRs hit.
The Non-Steroid Era is considered to be from 1901 - 1987. In that time there were 146,581 HR's hit.
So the difference is 47,948. Also, take into account the "Non-Steroid Era" is for 88 years, where as the "Steroid-Era" is for 22 years (and counting).
The average amount of home runs hit per season in the "Non-Steroid Era" is 1665.7 HR's per season. The average amount of home runs hit per season in the "Steroid-Era" is 4483.32 HR's per season.
