Whether you own one or a hundred and one watches is a function of your love of them and the size of your discretionary funds. But watches, most of them, will retain value over time, if not appreciate. And so they become generational. There's the bit in Pulp Fiction about Bruce Willis heading back into danger-in the form of hit man Vincent Vega (John Travolta) to retrieve a revered watch his father left him, delivered and revealed by the ubiquitous Chris Walken. The point: Willis, desperately needing to leave town, still had to go back to his former residence to retrieve it. That can be the power of a watch.
